[side note: this album sold a 100 kajillion copies. the song is about The Day of Judgment, she exorts to 'keep your deen true' and she 'makes salat like a sunni'. all of this to say (like my man Haziq says) its a lie/excuse to to think people cant make music that is good and true and not sell records. it just has to be dope.]

im just coming from the masjid. as i was leaving i heard a brother making this prayer:

‘Oh Allah, make my bad deeds the bad deeds of someone whom You love. Oh Allah, dont make my good deeds the good deeds of someone whom You despise. for it is better to be a sinner that is loved by You than a saint with whom you are not pleased.’

when i heard this i realized that my life’s worth of worship did not amount to what he accomplished with God in a few moments. obedience, regard, pilgrimage, fasting, charity are all dust except in Love.

without doubt, Love is the beginning and end of things.

what is your dreamworld? have you thought of it? have you specified what is in it and how it operates? i havent. this song reminded me that i havent. not sure if its a good idea or not.
